NEW NY Jug Stamped Jordon
3 gallon jug stamped "Jordon" I believe the potter was in the finger lakes region of New York. Very folky decoration of two men firing a cannon. The decoration is a bit crude but depicts one man lighting the cannon with a cannon ball in the air 1/3 of the way around the jug. Another man is lifting another cannon ball from a stack of balls to reload. A really cool and unusual piece found in a basement in Delaware several years ago. 8500.00

SJ Crock w/Whitney Family Provenance
3 gallon stoneware jar ,simple ovoid form with applied handles and blue decoration that looks like a single flowers to me on both sides. This jar was purchased from Mrs. Thomas Whitney back in the early 1960s who was still living in the now famous home named Hollybush built in the 1840s by Thomas Whitney famed glassmaking family Hollybush was also site of the famous summit meeting with President Johnson and Russian leader Aleksei Kosygin in 1967. 375.00

American folk art pitcher in the form of a realistic tree trunk painted appropriately with bark, vines, oak leaves ,acorns, sawed off stumps showing the trees rings and an applied deer head poking out in the front it hard to find a better example. The photo does not do it justice its a large pitcher (about 11") with good color and painted details.Possibly upper New York state circa 1880-1900 It could be sewer tile clay I'm still researching. 675.00
