Right out of the Appalachian Mountains well not really but it is a real possibility.I just love the originality of this piece! I can see someone else playing a jug ,a homemade Banjo maybe even a washtub bass,It just goes to show what a person can make with a little ingenuity or the unavailability of a store bought model. It must date to the 1920s give or take a few years. I really like this piece.
